Vivero Anones is a tropical fruit and flower farm, where we grow different species of fruit, nut and flowering trees from many tropical parts of the world. Our heliconia collection is quite large, and many new, beautiful hybrids have been produced here. A large tropical palm collection has been added in the past few years.

We are organic farmers, and our philosophy is based in love and respect towards ALL living creatures. A lot of plant species were added to our established collection with the purpose of attracting wildlife, mostly birds and butterflies.

At Vivero Anones we carry a large selection of tropical fruit trees. You can check our list of available fruit and nut trees on our Tropical Fruits page, and see some of these fruits in our Photo Gallery: Fruits page. Our list of available heliconias, gingers, edible and ornamental bananas can be viewed at the Heliconia page, and pictures of some of them can be seen at the photo galleries of Heliconias and Gingers. In the Palms page is the list of available palms. Live plants are available for local delivery.

We have added for your information a list of plants you can add to your garden to attract butterflies. It is divided in two parts: species to plant to provide nectar to adult butterflies, and species labeled as larval food, where the adults lay their eggs and, as a result, are used by the caterpillars as food. All the plants in the list are tropical or subtropical, and can be easily grown locally. To view the list, click on Butterflies.

You may visit us at Carretera 4406 Km. 3.8 interior, Barrio Anones, Las Marías,  Puerto Rico, but we deeply appreciate that you either call or email us first. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Las Marías is a small, mostly rural town on the western side of Puerto Rico, part of the coffee-producing region. It is just half an hour away by car from some of the most beautiful beaches and hotels of the western part of the island. Its people are kind and friendly, and because the population is not too big, it is still a quiet place to live. It often rains here, so there's always lush vegetation wherever you go.  A few annual festivals are part of the local tradition, the most important of them being the famous "Festival de la China" that usually takes place during the month of March. There's typical "jíbaro" music, food and lots of local crafts. The water of Las Marías is considered one of the purest in all of Puerto Rico!
